Charles Deemer's main idea or focus is really on "English Composition" and how it affects students (not only today but also in the past). I enjoyed when he talked about universities and how they would never change their "compulsory miseducation" unless they had a complete remodeling. Now why is compulsory miseducation even occurring? is it the teachers? the Curriculum? I for one believe it may be a little of both, you always get a few teachers here and there that just aren't cut out for teaching. Then you have the Curriculum that the teacher is supposed to follow and may tweak a bit according to the way they teach, but what if the Curriculum wasn't good enough (not meeting high standards) wouldn't that mean the students are being miseducated? After all a college university is a building block to your very own future, like Charles I believe that if everyone is educated our education process or system will begin to improve and change the lives of future students.
