Going Green

For the past year going green has been the most supported topic, not just socially but also environmentally. Socially, people are talking about what’s happening to our planet and how we can change it. I believe that talking about the issues that have the most impact on us is very important. When you have support groups spreading the word, news travels fast and helps people get involved everywhere. Along with going green is global warming, many people think that going green will improve the problems faced by global warming such as the amount of co2 that is emitted into the atmosphere.

I support going green because not only will it help global warming but it will also improve the way people think about their usage and conservation. For example, someone could cut down on their driving by taking a bus, car pooling , or riding a bike. Conservation is a big part of going green because everyone has a carbon foot print that we can make smaller. If we could all conserve water while taking showers it would reduce the amount of gallons we use for our bodies and we could give water to countries in need of it. This is just a prime example of how we could conserve and change the way we treat our planet.

Environmentally, people are eating organic foods that are grown with no artificial additives and taking their own personal grocery bag(s) to the store to reduce the use of plastic bags. Plastic bags from the grocery store never breakdown in land fills and can’t be recycled, so taking a bag made of fabric to use while you shop is helping reduce the amount of plastic bags going to the land fills. Organic materials are really popular right now because being 100% organic and natural is helping improve the environment.
